Don Kalervo
DonKalervo was born in Helsinki Suomenlinna.
Nearly all his life he has been living by the sea with the light phenomenons of the South-West Archipelago of Finland. The Ocean and the Light have always been the endless source of inspiration for his Design and later, his Art.
His Artistic Journey really began when he was part of the Karlsson Concept designer duo.
Who were the second Scandinavians ever to be a member of the Chambre Syndical de la Haute Couture in Paris. Between 2000-2010
My Haute Couture career I put on hold in 2010 as from then on I have concentrated only in the Art / Art Photography.
In 2004-2008 DonKalervo was part of the Group called KaMaLa Brothers / Big Bang
The group made an Art/ Sound Installation in Suomenlinna as part of the first Viapori Jazz festival in Suomenlinna. This project was chosen to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Finnish Cultural Foundation among 10 other artists.
The Dreamscapes / Painter Of The Horizons Concept started in the year 2021. At this time DonKalervo realized he is a Paintographer Painting light with his camera. A mission to bring the light of the Northern Color Fields into the world started in Jurmo Islands.
In June 2022 he held the first exhibition in Paris at 15martel Photographic Gallery.
In June 2023 – 01.09.2023 the Second exhibition in France as Part of the Art for the Oceans concept LesJourneesBleues which
connects scientists of Sorbonne with Artists of France
to raise the awareness of the state of the Oceans to wider public.
At the end of 2023 DonKalervo moved to Paris to live with his partner/artist Sido, to take steps together in the world of Intrenational Art.
The first exhibition in 2024 will be held with the new Gallery / Gallerist Zarin Art Gallery to enter a new market in the field of art
