Ahmad Vakili
Ahmad Vakili, a painter, printmaker, and art teacher, was born in Tehran in 1340. He earned a bachelor’s degree in painting from the University of Decorative Arts and later graduated from Islamic Azad University with a master’s degree in the same field in 1376. Vakili showcased his drawings and paintings for the first time at the Green Gallery of Mashhad in 1366. He is recognized for his expertise in design and hand printing, playing a significant role in these fields. In addition to painting, Vakili has been active in the field of illustration, designing picture books for children that have earned him international awards. He is a proud member of the Iran Painting Association. In 1991, he was acclaimed as the best illustrator of the year in Inval Blania, and his works were exhibited in Italy and Tokyo. One of his landscape paintings was auctioned on January 26, 2019, at the 13th Tehran auction (featuring modern and contemporary art of Iran) with a price of $4,632, marking his most expensive work in auctions until 2022.
