Ali Faramarzi is an Iranian modernist painter and art critic. In 1976, he received a scholarship for young artists in Niavaran Palace and presented his first group show in 1977. In 1979, this artist received the Rome Academy Award, which he did not manage to use as it coincided with the start of the war. His second group show was held in Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art in 1989. Farmarzi has a teaching experience in the Iran-Italy Cultural Association and Sourah University and in 1995 he opened his own gallery named "Faramarzi Art Gallery".
The first solo show of this artist took place in Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts in 1988 and in 2017 he was awarded a first-class art certificate from the Ministry of Islamic Guidance and Culture and the Ministry of Science,And in the same year, the artist's book titled "Notes of Ali Faramarezi" was published.
Ali Faramarzi is one of the main critics of contemporary Iranian painting who has published more than 250 articles about Iranian visual art and has also presented many shows in Iran and abroad.
