nasrollah afjei
Nasrullah Afjaei was born in 1312 in Tehran and is a lasting figure in the art of calligraphy. He learned calligraphy from Mirza Mohammadoli Kimia, and in 1943 he took a lesson from Ali Akbar Kaveh. After serving in the army, Afjahi opened the “Heft” gallery together with Ali Akbar Sadeghi and has held 7 solo exhibitions since 1352. Rhythm, burnt colors and following the old black practice patterns are frequent signs in his works. In most line drawings, the line is the base, but the drawing also bears a large part of the final result. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Swiss Ball, Traditional Bologna in Italy and many major art centers internationally.
