Shahryar Ahmadi was born in 1979 in Kermanshah and graduated from the University of Art with a bachelor's and master's degree in painting. In 1995, he won the first environmental prize in Japan and in 2007, he won the prize and statue of the International Biennial of Islamic World Painting. Shahryar Ahmadi is one of the most important figures in contemporary Iranian painting, whose works have received much attention and admiration both at home and abroad. He has had more than 15 solo exhibitions in Iran, Switzerland and regional countries and has participated in countless group exhibitions. In 2010, he was invited to Lucerne, Switzerland by the Art Bridge Foundation and in 2015, he participated in the Venice Biennale. In 2016, the famous fashion brand "Valentino" installed two of Shahryar Ahmadi's paintings on the wall during its winter show. A book of his works curated by Professor Marco Menno Gozzo, a professor at the University of Milan, and with writings by several world art experts, will soon be published by SKIRA Publishing. He is a trend-setting painter who has influenced the generation after him. He has been working as a painting instructor and head of the painting department at Karaj University of Applied Sciences since 2004.
