Hossein Ali Zabehi, a painter, was born in 1945 (Tehran). He completed his painting education at the Tehran Academy of Fine Arts under the supervision of Mohammad Ebrahim Jafari in 1968 and left for Paris in 1971 to continue his studies. He began his painting course at the Paris School of Fine Arts (Beausart) and graduated with a master's degree in painting in 1975 (1975). He then returned to Iran and began teaching at the university and painting. In his manuscripts about nostalgia, Zabehi said: "I paint nostalgias." Nostalgia is an important factor in art that cannot be ignored, especially in the case of an introverted and expressionist painter. He refers to this period of his paintings as the "French period."
