Bita Fayazi (born 1962) is a pioneering Iranian artist who emerged in the early 1970s by challenging what was considered conventional art with her installations and sculptures. In recent decades, the artist has created many works in the form of performance, video, installations and sculptures. The themes of most of her works are derived from everyday social and cultural issues, and depict characters from the ordinary people of Iran. Fayazi has always shown a kind of rebellion and progress towards the traditionalism of Iranian society and academic art in her works.
