
Born in 1955 in Gonbad Kavous and holds a master's degree in painting from Islamic Azad University. He is a painter and lecturer at Tehran universities and is one of the prominent artists of painting and drawing. Among his teachers during this period are Ruin Pakbaz, Hannibal Al-Khas, Homayoun Salimi, Mehdi Hosseini, and Mohammad Ebrahim Jafari.
Most of his works are presented in the form of Iranian tradition and ritual and their connection with the outside world. The techniques presented in the form of this artist's paintings are in the style of modern and postmodern art while maintaining traditional, ritual and Iranian elements.
The artist's works are kept in many museums, such as the British Museum in London, the Jordan Library Museum, the Imam Ali (AS) Museum in Tehran, the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, the Tehran Art Academy Museum, and the Swiss Embassy in Tehran.
He has won numerous awards, including: Selected at the Second Tehran Painting Biennial 2000, Selected at the Third Iranian Teachers Painting Festival, Isfahan 2003, Selected at the First Tehran Teachers Visual Works Festival 2003, Selected at the Second Islamic World Painting Biennial, Tehran 2004, Selected at the Second Tehran Teachers Visual Works Festival 2006, Selected at the Fourth International Islamic World Painting Biennial, Tehran.
He has held more than 50 solo and group exhibitions in Iran and the countries of England, Switzerland, India, France, Venezuela, Qatar, the Emirates, Armenia, and Jordan.
